An Intimate and Unique Boarding Experience.
The Facility
Our facility is custom-designed to address the needs of boarding guests and our rescue dogs. We have ample space and yards.
Our biggest concern when designing this facility was having the dogs feel like they were in a home environment rather than a kennel. Obviously, for the health and safety of the dogs, chain link and separate quarters are a necessity, but our office area serves as the home or living space. We also have a large grass exercise yard with easy access to all the outdoor kennels. Human companionship and lower stress levels are important to keeping dogs emotionally healthy, both on a permanent basis and while dogs are away from home. We are excited to offer a kennel where we would actually board our own pets.
All of our kennels and yards are premium accommodations. We only offer two sizes of kennel runs: large and extra large – all are climate-controlled indoor kennels with 24/7 outside access.
The kennel was also designed to maximize our observation of all the dogs. We have one building for boarding dogs with parallel hallways with windows to the other hallway. We only have 10 boarding runs on one hallway and four boarding runs on the other side. We are small and intimate. In addition, the only staff members for the kennel are Ben and Elizabeth.
Climate-Controlled
In the fall and spring, we move fresh air through the building with seven ceiling fans. Dog doors and lots of windows provide plenty of airflow. In the winter, zoned, radiant floors heat the building and keep it toasty warm.
In the summer, the kennel building is air-conditioned for hairy-dog comfort and outside exposure is restricted on very hot days. In addition, the outside runs on the eastside are shaded all afternoon.
Dogs will be confined inside the building during extreme temperatures and weather events, and their outside time would be supervised in those cases.
