- Daily exercise yard/playtime and hands-on exam
- Two feedings per day (owner-supplied food/special diets or our premium food)
- Dispensing any owner-supplied medications
- Elevated (Kuranda) beds
For security reasons, our gate is locked. Please call ahead to schedule a visit, drop off or pick up your dog(s).
Pickup/Delivery
Check out is noon. It’s like a hotel. If your dog leaves by noon, there is not charge for that day. If your dog leaves at 1pm, you are charged for that day. We try to offer flexibility in our schedule and often add times around holidays—call us to arrange.
Door to Door Service is offered: We also pick up dogs from their homes and deliver them back home when travel is complete. While this service originally was offered free, we now charge to cover increased transportation costs and time.
St. Louis County/City: Pickup/delivery is $75 round trip per family. One way is $50. St. Charles, Franklin, Warren and Lincoln Counties: Rates depend on distance. Call us to arrange.
Note: We do not deliver dogs to empty homes, backyards or to neighbors. Please schedule delivery for when your travel is complete.
Please call ahead to schedule a visit, drop off or pick up your dog(s). We have a new gate system and we need to know to expect you.
Payment
Because we are a small facility we take check or cash. Payment is always due upon your receipt of your dog. For long-term boarding or new customers, we do require advance payment.
Grooming
Throughout the years, we have offered grooming when we had a professional groomer on staff. However, we no longer offer clips, cuts and brush outs. We now offer baths and the price varies with the size of the dog. This service needs to be discussed prior to boarding, so we can schedule it.
Veterinary Services
In the case of emergencies, we will follow protocol established in our boarding agreement, making all efforts to contact owners prior to any emergency procedures.
For long-term boarding customers or for dogs who frequently board, we offer transportation to veterinary services on a limited basis.
Requirements to Board
- Current rabies vaccinations
- Annual DHLPP-C vaccinations (we need a copy on file)
- Bordetella vaccination (optional, but suggested)
Your dog(s) must be on heartworm preventative and a topical flea and tick prevention (Frontline preferred.) They must be flea free.
We also require that dogs (and owners) be non-aggressive and that any behavior problems be discussed in advance. Damage to the facility will be charged to the owner.
Boarding Form
Please complete the following forms each time your dog is boarded with us; for frequent boarders, please update us with travel and contact information.
Boarding Form – Please fill out the online form and submit.
Owners must also sign a release so that we have instructions for emergency medical care. We require that Dogwood Farm be reimbursed for any medical expenses spent on your dog during the boarding period.
Release Form – Please print and bring with your pet.
Reservations
You can make a reservation for your dog(s) via email, phone or text. While we prefer 24-hour notice prior to boarding, we understand that emergencies do arise. Keep in mind, Ben is cleaning the facility and exercising dogs during the day, so you may get a voicemail when you call. We will call you back. If it’s an emergency, call the backup number given. Please make sure you leave your name and phone number.
